races<\/strong>, 45 km, 24 km, and 14 km, will start from the central <strong>Piazza del Popolo<\/strong>, crossing the historic center. They will exit through <strong>Porta al Cassero<\/strong>, one of the 6 gates allowing access to the city, adjacent to the 14th-century <strong>Fortress<\/strong>, built in the highest part of the medieval town.<\/p><p>Traversing woods, vineyards of <strong>Brunello di Montalcino<\/strong>, villages, and farms, the route will lead to <strong>Castello Banfi \u2013 Poggio alle Mura<\/strong>, whose first nucleus was built before the year 1000, imposing on a strategic hill for controlling the confluence of the <strong>Orcia and Ombrone rivers<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The path momentarily leaves the Val d\u2019Orcia to ascend towards the small medieval village of <strong>Sant\u2019Angelo in Colle<\/strong>. Another descent into the valley, followed by a climb towards <strong>Ventolaio<\/strong> (by name and in fact!), where the <strong>Brunello Crossing 45<\/strong> path rejoins the <strong>Brunello Crossing 24<\/strong>.<\/p><p>A steep descent, <strong>&#8220;Il Patataio,&#8221;<\/strong> with a <strong>breathtaking view of the Val d\u2019Orcia<\/strong> and the backdrop of <strong>Monte Amiata<\/strong>, brings athletes to cross another medieval village: <strong>Castelnuovo dell\u2019Abate<\/strong>. participants to respect the <strong>TRAFFIC CODE<\/strong> along the entire path.<br \/>Completion of the race entitles you to 2 <strong>ITRA<\/strong> points.<strong><br \/><\/strong>The route, of 45 km and positive elevation gain 1820 meters, takes place in a natural environment through trails, cart tracks and short stretches of asphalt so the race is defined as <strong>TRAIL RUNNING<\/strong>. The route is marked with special balises, arrows, signs and vignettes. There are checkpoints and health care stations at various points along the route.<br \/><strong>Refreshments<\/strong> are located at 5 points + 1 final all provided with beverages, minerals and various foods, with the obligation to be consumed on the spot and not to leave or throw garbage along the route, under penalty of exclusion from the race.<br \/><br \/><\/p><h6><u>RACE DETAILS<\/u><\/h6><ul><li>Start: Piazza del Popolo, Montalcino at 08:00<\/li><li>The maximum time is set at 8 hours, necessary to be included in the ranking.<\/li><li>There are two time gates: at the 23.7 km mark, which closes after 4 hours from the start, and the other at the 32.7 km mark after 5 and a half hours.<\/li><li>Participants who do not pass the gates within the maximum time must hand over the bib and time chip to the organizers along the path.<\/li><li>The race will be monitored through 4 intermediate timing points in addition to the final one.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Participation with dogs is allowed, provided that, throughout the competition, the dog is securely leashed (non-extendable), and their start occurs at the back of the grid. In any case, the owner is responsible for the conduct of the dog, which must not in any way harm other people or things.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>IMPORTANT:<\/strong> IMPORTANT: In the event of adverse weather conditions (or excessive snowfall), the organizers may modify the course, shorten it, or, in exceptional cases, suspend the race to safeguard the safety of the athletes. It will also be possible to register on-site on the morning of the race. If the number of 400 registered participants is reached, the organization reserves the right to suspend registrations to ensure the best possible service for the athletes.<br \/>Each athlete must be 18 years old by February 07, 2027.<br \/>Each athlete declares to know and accept the regulations of the &#8220;BRUNELLO CROSSING&#8221; and authorizes the organization to process personal data and\/or images related to their participation in the event, based on Legislative Decree 675\/96.<br \/>Each athlete undertakes to respect the race course.<br \/>It is the duty of athletes to assist anyone in great difficulty and report it at the next refreshment point or to the staff. It is possible to take advantage of the transfer facility to the following year&#8217;s edition only once.<\/li><li>transfer the registration to another person upon payment of an additional fee of \u20ac. 15.00 for secretarial fees and upon prior notice by January 31, 2026 and written declaration by the person who renounces the registration.<br \/>The person enrolled as a replacement must provide all personal information as if it were a new enrollment. It is possible to take advantage of the facility of transferring to another athlete only in the 2027 edition and in any case only once.
